Bangkok has become one of the world’s leading tourist destinations and it’s easy to see why. A colourful culture, tasty food, friendly locals and a grand history to match but whilst some come here and splash out on five-star hotels, many arrive as part of their backpacking round the world travels. Stories from Thailand, and particularly Khao San Road in Bangkok can be very interesting,

One of our favourites is the NapPark hostel. If you forget about the fact that you are sharing a room, you would think you were in a modern city centre hotel. NapPark is still relatively new on the scene but with friendly service, clean facilities, free internet access, walking distance to Khao San Road and a host of other goodies, this really is one to go for. What’s more, the hostel offers free lockers and padlock to guests, as well as towels and duvets. Prices start at £6.50 per night but do not include breakfast, however, there is a restaurant on site or you can head out and enjoy one of the local eateries.

Another new hostel in Bangkok is the Pridi Hostel, located along Sukhumvit road. With prices starting at less than £10 per night including breakfast, with free internet, clean rooms and walking distance to the local bars and restaurants, this is also one to take a look at. The hostel is a bit of a distance from the main central area but if you are after that local feel Pridi Hostel is a great one to go for.
For those who are part of Hostelling International, the HI Mid Bangkok hostel offers comfortable rooms in a great location. Steps from the Victory Monument and a few minutes walk from the nearest Skytrain station, the hostel is modern and offers complimentary breakfast to guests. At prices from £9 per night for a dorm bed, this lovely hostel is another one of our favourites to take a look at.
Whatever you like, hostelling is a great way to check out what’s new and exciting in Bangkok. Book early for the best deals and you can enjoy modern, comfortable accommodation at the fraction of a hotel room price.
