Just two weeks until the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Just two weeks to go and Abu Dhabi is getting ready for the exciting Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Sunday 4th November will see drivers, racing teams, locals and international visitors heading to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi to experience the thrill of the Formula 1. Tickets are still available for the three days of fun and excitement which also includes the after-race concerts, whose artists this year include Kylie Minogue, Nickelback and Eminem.

As one of the relative newcomers to the F1 scene, Abu Dhabi’s first Grand Prix was hosted in 2009 at the Yas Marina Circuit, a track specifically designed for the race which also allows other year round activities, including karting, drag racing and driving experiences, to take place on site. With Sebastien Vettel having won his fourth Grand Prix of the season in Korea, all eyes are on him to see if he can do it again. The German driver will be competing for the top spot against the likes of Spanish driver Fernando Alonso who sits just behind him in the current Formula One standings. British favourite Lewis Hamilton is in fourth position currently this season with 153 points.

There’s no doubt about it though, with the sunshine, a technologically advanced track and an unrivaled atmosphere, Abu Dhabi is THE place to be at the start of November. A number of other supporting events are also taking place in addition to the qualifying and race days. After-race concerts take place at the nearby Du Arena, set with the backdrop of the incredible Ferrari World, one of the world’s most exciting outdoor venues. Then the official late night after-parties take place at the Du Forum, also located on Yas Island with artists including Mel C, Ceelo and Lupe Fiasco. Throughout the four days, numerous events and concerts will also take place along the Abu Dhabi Corniche. Back on Yas Island and the Viceroy and Marina Yacht Club will also be holding various events for visitors.
